Peak means the highest point. If you had peak money, it means you have the maximum money, you are not poor. A decline takes time.

Too cool for school ... literally
Consumption; Demand; PricesWASHINGTON - Bundle up, kids. It's getting cold inside.

As oil and natural gas prices soar, public schools are having to make some tough decisions: turning down the thermostat, finding alternative sources of fuel, even cutting back on the school week.

At Menomonie High School in western Wisconsin, principal Tom Wiatr has dropped the temperature a few degrees. Students started wearing zip-up sweatshirts and fleeces to stay warm, raising questions about a school rule against wearing jackets indoors.

So the school clarified its policy, even scheduling a fashion show to highlight acceptable clothing.

Naturally, it was snowed out.

So far, students are lukewarm to the school's strategy. The classroom temperature is 68 degrees.

This is almost good news.  This is a symptom of people beginning to get it that cheap energy is over.

When I was at school (in the 1800s some time) it got quite cold in class in winter.  When I started work the law was that it had to be 16C or warmer within 1 hour of the start of work or we could all go home.  And sometimes it wasn't and we did.  16C is a little chilly for sitting at a desk.  I work from home, and keep the thermostat set at 16C during the day, but I use a nice warm laptop to keep my hands from getting cold.

68F is 20C.  That is still plenty warm.  They could drop that to 18.  All this will mean it that the poor little children will be less likely to fall asleep and and the boys will be distracted by far less naked flesh.

Other work places should take a note.
