Meanwhile, keep watching for shortage reports, because we should start seeing some sneak in this week, if our doom-o-meter is calibrated correctly.

Dear Patty:  Have you heard about our wind storm, we have been without power for 5 days, and both of us are sick!.  The cell phones were all tied up and that's all we had.  I hear there are little gadgets on the market which can be wound up and charge the cell phone.  I went down to Bayview market to have a latte and charged mine.  Once upon a time we had a wood stove and everything we needed, now we have a candle and flashlights, and cooked on the outdoor grill.  I have great sympathy for the pioneer ladies as that kind of cooking is quite dirty and my hands took a beating.  I hear that EastBay, where we were before,  still does not have power.  Everyone went somewhere else?  Hope you have a lovely Christmas...I am to go up on the Amtrak and meet Kyra in Edmonds, taking the ferry over to Kingston, if I can get well!  Love, Jacque
