| California To Introduce Peak Electric Rates |

scareduck writes: The Los Angeles Times reports that California has okayed a plan to replace existing electric meters with time-sensitive ones for large industrial customers. By making electricity more expensive at times of peak demand, the state estimates up to 600 MW of capacity could be saved.
