We cannot drill our way out of this oil crisis. Since 2000, oil companies working in the U.S. have doubled the number of wells drilled per year.

Although increased drilling has added new oil to the nation's supply, it has not done so fast enough to offset the terminal decline of existing fields.

We are going to have to import more of our oil. Period.

Crumbs from the carbon banquet
Enviromental Headlines; Climate Changewildwell writes:

According to Tony Blair and the report of the Commission for Africa, what Africa needs most is more roads The African economy would develop along the same lines as the carbon-hungry affluent world, but in a sufficiently sustainable way to save the planet. It is a tall order.

Tony Blair must first stop supporting and selling weapons to African dictators. That's the priority. As long as the West supports those African predators, nothing will change.
Which weapons were used in the Great War which killed 5 million Africans in less than 5 years? British and American weapons. Enough said.
Roads. Djeezis.
