| New pipeline to deliver a fifth of UK gas |

clv101 writes: The UK is currently pretty much self sufficient, exporting roughly the same amount of gas as it imports, but this is about to change fast, in part due to dwindling UK North Sea reserves.
Furthermore, "gas prices are likely to rise significantly over this period" - in part due to an expected doubling in demand for gas from continental European countries during the next 15 years.
