| Portugal To Build World's Largest Solar Power Site |

thegrq writes: Portugal has approved the constructuction of a 62MW photovoltaics site, which will be the largest in the world. The site will be built by BP Solar and should be ready for 2007. As of 2004, Portugal had a total 2.6MW worth of solar power. With the 62MW of new capacity, that will put Portugal close to the top 5 solar power producing countries in the world (as of 2004: Japan 1132MW; Germany 794MW; USA 365MW; Australia 52MW).
