How then, do we move backwards? How does a society, with most of the people having no clue of future events, move from being dependent on a vast and intertwined network of goods and services produced by the indigenous people of whereever, to a local resource and renewable energy based society, and do so in the timeframe available (20-30 years using the most liberal extimates, 10-20 with resonable estimates, 5-10 with worst case scenarios), all the while prices on everything increasing, world politics getting more militaristic, governments continuously reducing civil liberties, shortages of goods on the market and weather patterns resembling bad Hollywood movies?

It's not the clearest map in the world but it looks like Bangladesh is at medium risk of water shortage, which seems a little unlikely given that this is the risk level for Saudi Arabia. But it's a pr ...

In order to prevent industry relocating to more lax regulatory environments, it seems that the 20% cuts won't apply to "energy intensive industries" (so nothing important then) if international agreem ...

Britain has just decided to build its first coal-fired power station in 25 years and the government is pushing through a fairly healthy expansion of the country's airports so seeing would very definit ...

You're describing the country in which I live. I can see with my own eyes what is happening. I read the papers. I watch the news. I walk about the streets. I talk to other people who live here. I work ...

Hmm. So in 40 years time, Norway will be supporting a Muslim population of 8 million, when its current total population is only 4.5 million. Looking at the graph, it's calculated on a - frankly laugha ...
