As I have 2 kids in the military so I can get all sorts of barely broke-in boots of very high quality from the Airmen's Attic, etc..
I'd suggest a mil surplus store - I guess they are still around ... |

According to my calcs, in a very very pessimistic scenario you have like 6 month, for building your reserves you will need at least for the next 10 years. If not, you have 1 year. But no more!
