We cannot drill our way out of this oil crisis. Since 2000, oil companies working in the U.S. have doubled the number of wells drilled per year.

Although increased drilling has added new oil to the nation's supply, it has not done so fast enough to offset the terminal decline of existing fields.

We are going to have to import more of our oil. Period.

We are going to a 4 day work week starting in August. However I only burn 2/3 of a gallon commuting a day. Hopefully this will leave huge gaps in coverage which means more overtime for me.

You can get some good deals in SE Oklahoma. Weyerhauser and Georgia Pacific are selling off a lot of timber for $1.5-$2K an acre. Lots of hard timber, good water, deer, and very isolated.
