Hoarding is exactly what the government is doing right now by filling the SPR, and frankly it's the best thing that could happen. It drives prices up. High prices encourage demand destruction. They also finance new well development. The hoarded oil gives us a buffer to fall back on once shortages become more prevalent. High prices are what we need in order to adapt to what's coming, and the sooner they happen, the better.

If it is a coal-fired electrical powerplant, the CO2 emissions are even greater then they would be for a gasoline-powered car. :)

The Renault Twingo is also available as an electric vehicle (in ...

A recent news article said 10 million American cars would stop being driven if gas went to five dollars a gallon in the U.S. That is less that 1/2 of one percent (250 million vehicles U.S.)...

Why don't you compare CO2 emissions of West Germany 1990-2004 with the US instead?

Do you understand now how Germany was so successful at reducing its CO2 after 1990?

I'm perfectly aware of that.

But didn't you argue that Germany is not able to meet the Kyoto target?
