Hoarding is exactly what the government is doing right now by filling the SPR, and frankly it's the best thing that could happen. It drives prices up. High prices encourage demand destruction. They also finance new well development. The hoarded oil gives us a buffer to fall back on once shortages become more prevalent. High prices are what we need in order to adapt to what's coming, and the sooner they happen, the better.

What I've heard is that coconut oil is highly saturated and extremely unhealthy. It's supposed to be one of the worst oils, which explains why it's often an ingredient in cheap junk foods.

There's still going to be a LOT of oil being produced in 5 years. There will be some people who won't have access to it and may well be dieing off by then, but it probably won't be the people on this ...
