I think this is the beginnings of an economy based on perpetual growth and fossil fuel energy running headlong into geological energy constraints. Basically I see an undulatory downward path for the rest of my life. From here out, I think any rallies in our economic condition are going to be met with spiking commodity prices that knock us right back down.

I'm betting today is the day we hit $150. If not, it will stop just short at 149 something and wait a week or two to break through.

Yeah, could be 149.95 today, or higher. 147.30 already this AM. ...

Woah ! Speaking of currency debasement, gold just shot up from 950-960 in the last half-hour. It was 930 just over 24 hours ago and 920 48 hours ago.

Perhaps this is related to the news that gov't ...

We were paying about $6,000 per year for 2 cars gas and electric and heating oil a few years ago.

At current prices that would be about $8,000.

But I bought a Prius so ...

There are good markets for the hybrids such as Prius etc., and EVs and Smart Cars.

I think there is now a good market for inexpensive high MPG, highly aerodynamic highway vehicles. Cars for people ...
