For a minute there I thought I had to get off my couch, when all the while the fact is we don't have to do anything much but keep things afloat for just a few decades more! In fact, we'd best shut up about PO, because if our offspring finds out we knew about it all along, they'll turn and wring our necks come 2036!

What will happen is global temperatures 10-20 C higher and sea levels 100-200 m higher (I'll pulling numbers from recollection only here). But you get the gist.

So if 2005 was less ice than 2008, then the trend is toward more ice going forward?

Sounds like we've moving in the "getting colder" direction.

This year, today, half that area is 40 percent open water!
Well to be fair, last year yesterday it was 40% open water as well. It was probably just refreezing that late in the game. [url=http://iglo ...

When did this last happen?
I'd say even though we may not break the record, both passages opened is even more major since it didn't even happen last year (not to mention ever in recorded history). We ...

I frankly admit there is a lot more of it left than I had expected in March.
Same. At this point it's up the weather conditions as to whether we break last year's record. We're closer to the record t ...

We may have slightly more ice around the edges than we did last year at this time, but the melt is faster where it matters. The fringe ice will most likely melt in the coming weeks like last year, and ...

It is looking that way, though there's still plenty of time for much more melting. This year it is the end game, we could have a near normal year, but come August when normally the melt cycle would ...

Not only that. Let's say they drive 2% as much as we do because they can still fit on a bike (no not all Americans are 300 pounds, but you get my drift).

The price of oil increased 400% in 1973 overnight and that represented a 3-5% reduction in supply.

If you average that increase over the course of a year, each weekly inventory report would boost t ...

For example, Expedition drivers get set back $98 to buy 28 gallons.

But, you can expect a fill up to double and then double again to $400 an ...
