Hoarding is exactly what the government is doing right now by filling the SPR, and frankly it's the best thing that could happen. It drives prices up. High prices encourage demand destruction. They also finance new well development. The hoarded oil gives us a buffer to fall back on once shortages become more prevalent. High prices are what we need in order to adapt to what's coming, and the sooner they happen, the better.

I bet much more than waterboarding is going on in that gulag of secret CIA prisons.

I don't doubt it. I get the ooky feeling that waterboarding is a "wedge" topic. As soon as we allow "not really ...

As a woman I would not like to go back to H/G societies. Women were often treated as second class beings and mostly as cart horses/ trade objects. For the men it was ok - if you survived the average 3 ...

Three months of food in my basement isn't even close to being prepared.

That's the very point that grinds in the back of my head:

How much food is enough? When will things be stable enough to ...

I'm sitting here doing some pretty good damage to a bottle of Bushmill's and I'm thinking about how much I'll miss whiskey. I can distill my own, but it won't be like this. Other things on my list: ...

I'm not even trying to get out, yet. The primary reason is that I'm divorced and my daughter's with the ex-wife. She's not going anywhere, so I'm here in the wasteland until TSHTF or the girl reach ...

I grew up during the 70's and my step-father was a power-doomer. He spoke about the end of cheap oil several times, but thought it would happen much sooner. He lost his worry in the 90's when "nothi ...
