Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

The second article is funny. The author talks about how we are not running out of oil sitting increased investment and the ever popular "better technology". He talks about all the wonderful new fields coming on line. Then he gets to the part about rates of decline and the rosy picture starts to wilt. It's like he says there is plenty of oil, but we are in decline.

Agreed, before the first energy crisis in the 70s, the "fundamentals" were pointing toward prices below $2. Most analysts were even predicting prices below $1. _________________ ______________________________________

Here is the line in the first article that to me really stands out.
Quote:
Yet oil industry insiders seem to disagree on whether imbalances exist and availability projections. The picture is clouded since reliable data on supply and demand, especially in certain foreign markets, can be difficult to come by.
Thats right folks they are all guessing at what is going on in the "foreign markets". That's why Simmons and T Boone have valid arguments that we have hit PO today. If Simmons speculation backed up by his own research that SA is in decline well then folks it is all down hill from here. No one knows for sure what is going on. My bet is we have seen PO.

Thanks for the tip off. Schools out and I have time, think I'll listen in! Always nice to hear the Big Cahuna Doomer himself. (yeah, I know, its small self-sufficient communities and all that. Riiight!)
Give me a friggin' break. Carlhole, you want people to believe your wacked out nutcase rantings and those of your even more wacked out nutcase mentors? Here's a hint: you don't gain credibility by making crap up. Jared Diamond's "Collapse" is a "best-seller".

Why do I get the funny farking feeling that your name is not realy Phil and you do not own or ride a bicycle, bike or motorcycle?
I knew a narco-slob once named Phil who was so un-cool it wasnt funny and then one day he started wearing different clothes and riding a new harley - suddenly he was "cool" in most peoples eyes
Not trying to defend Carlhole really - I just see that you have a hard on for him and try to piss on all his posts and in this instance I cant see why unless you also have a hard on for Ruppert as well
There is still hope. Lets take JD for instance and even Bigg. They both seem to be slanting more to the doomer side. This is a process. Your at the PO forum for a reason Phil. Enjoy!!

Maybe because you're a paranoid nutcase, too? j/k ...maybe.... Certainly grammar isn't one of you're (sic) strong points..... (that's ok, it's not really one of mine either... )
It's simple, really. I just have a very low tolerance for bullshit, particularly when it's bought by otherwise intelligent people who should know better.
And Carl seems to be the reigning king of bullshit peddling on this forum right now, an astute student of the professional bullshit peddlers. He seems provide bullshitter links at least 12 times a day.

Ruppert was all over the importance of peak oil before most any other journalist and should be credited for that, if nothing else. He also seems to have an uncanny ability to connect the dots about what is going on in the world as well as anyone else out there. So, for those of us who are too dumb to understand these things or don't have the time to research for ourselves, we believe in Ruppert. If you don't agree with Ruppert's geopolitical takes on the effects of peak oil, that's fine, but don't criticize those of us who are concerned about the big picture analysis that FTW provides and are not wasting our time worrying about Tivo'ing the next episode of American Idol.

According to him.

Again, according to him.
His "connections" are far-reaching, unbelievable delusions. Those of us who have not completely 86ed our critical thinking can see that fairly easily.
Reading Ruppert's writing style and looking a little into his background (his real background not his concocted self-image background) suggest that he is unstable and borderline insane. Kind of a megolomaniacal "mad genius" like L. Ron Hubbard and Lyndon LaRouche. I don't get the appeal of these people, but apparently they can lasoo followers fairly easily. Maybe just innocent people looking for an exciting cause.

Phil, I know anyone can get into see a Congressman, but what is your take on why Roscoe Bartlett met with Mike for an hour? I'm not baiting or saying that it lends any credibility to Ruppert, just genuinely curious what is your opinion. link

I don't trust FTW or Ruppert. I'd be interested in hearing Bartlet's take on the meeting.
