Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Can anyone recommend some electric space heaters?

I live in an appartment that has natural gas heat, and I'd like to cut down my gas bill for this winter (not to mention the possible shortage) by buying a couple electric space heaters.

I'm thinking about the radiator type, because they look the safest. I don't want anything with exposed elements if possible, because I'd fear that they'd catch something on fire.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yavicleus,

Here are two examples of two space heaters that one can find in Canada; but you can find similar items at your local stores (sorry can NOT make HOT link):

Oil-Filled :

Parabolic Radiant:

I always thought that space heaters were a lot more expensive than gas... but maybe I'm wrong.

A little pelonis heater can take the chill off. Put it right at your feet. It doesn't use much electricity. We use them a bit. I think it may save energy overall, because you aren't heating the whole space, just yourself. It definitely saves oil and wood, because you don't crank up the heater just to warm your tootsies.

I'm also doing this research for my friends that have home oil heating and live up in Boston. They are looking at alternatives, but they can't change the home because they rent.

So far the oil filled electric radiators seem best because they are very safe and relatively energy efficient when compared to home heating oil.

The oil filled are nice. They stay warm after the heating element turns off so they use less energy. They are also a lower wattage usually so they take longer to get to temp.

I have electric baseboards and I've thought of switching them out for the oil filled but have gone woodstove instead.
