Hoarding is exactly what the government is doing right now by filling the SPR, and frankly it's the best thing that could happen. It drives prices up. High prices encourage demand destruction. They also finance new well development. The hoarded oil gives us a buffer to fall back on once shortages become more prevalent. High prices are what we need in order to adapt to what's coming, and the sooner they happen, the better.

I hope this topic doesn't violate any board policies but I thought it would be helpful to have a list of suppliers that support the survival, preparation and conservation needs of the readers of these boards. Anything from food preservation hardware to wind generation would be useful.

My contribution is Lehmans. They have been supplying the Amish folks for years. The Amish are the real experts(in America) at surviving without oil. Lehmans can be found on-line at: http://www.lehmans.com

I'm not connected to Lehmans but I don't see any reason why a vendor couldn't hang a shingle in here. (ok, so it's al loss in potential advertising revenue)

Perhaps a moderator could roll these links into a main link off the home page??

It looks like I should have read through some more old posts before I opened my big mouth(fat fingers).

Here is the already developed link:

Dear MarkL: There are a lot of posts here - probably impossible to notice them all in a short space of time!

Here is my contribution:
