Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Does anyone know how long standard NATO .308 rounds typically last. I have about 4000 rounds that are sealed in the typical "battle pack" plastic pouches. In a cool environment they should last for years but does anyone have any experiences with massive ammo failure? I have some ammo that I bought 4 years ago (who knows how old it really is) which runs through my M1A National Match just fine.

Decades. Longer even. I routinely shoot ammo from the 60's and 70's. 8mm surplus, yay. _________________ "Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the

I knew it was a long time but wanted to know if anyone has had any "massive" ammo failures out of an old batch. Good to know my ammo will remain functional for a long time.

I have a 25-year-old Winchester 30-30 94 AE rifle in excellent working condition. Some have criticized the action of this rifle as "delicate" (and not as robust as, say, that of the comparable Marlin rifle), but I've never had any problem with it (not that I've shot it a huge amount).
"Surely among the most beloved firearms of all time are the Winchester pre 1964 Model 94 carbines. These graceful little rifles are a study in functional walnut and steel. With nearly perfect lines and balance, they became the best selling sporting rifles of all time.
Unfortunately, by the early 1960s the production costs of the traditional Model 94 with all of its forged steel parts had risen dramatically. Winchester executives realized that soon the Model 94 would have to be priced beyond the reach of the average hunter. This is exactly the fate that befell the classic Mannlicher-Schoenauer carbine, and eventually spelled its doom.
To save the Model 94 and restore a reasonable profit margin, Winchester redesigned the action for cheaper manufacture, substituting stamped sheet metal and roll pins for parts previously machined from forged steel. The steel buttplate became plastic and a less durable metal finish was substituted for the traditional bluing. The new guns still worked and shot just fine despite their aesthetic flaws, but the credibility of the Model 94 took a serious hit, and examples manufactured prior to the 1964 changes became instant classics." link
I bought a used model '94 in .30-30 about 10 years ago for around $175 and was thrilled until I discovered the above history. The action on mine seems a bit awkward, maybe because my hands are too big. Still my favorite rifle though, and accurate. Wish I had learned more first & bought a pre-'64 version (mine was built in 1964).
I think I paid about $200 for mine, new (in the mid-80s). It's worth somewhat more than that now (or maybe not, after inflation), but the ones to own are definitely the pre-1964 ones in good condition!
Sort of like coins. Older is better. _________________ "Actually, humans died out long ago."

I love my mini 14; I have never had a problem. I have fired over a 200 rounds in rapid succession, it has never jammed once, and the rounds are also a lot cheaper compared to my 30-06. I would use the mini for distance shooting. If I were to use a weapon for close quarter combat I would definitely prefer a short barred shotgun with tripled odd buck. It eliminates multiple targets, unlike a handgun in one shot. I also prefer the fact that you can load almost anything in a shotgun shell in a pinch. PS the tire balancing weights are a good source of lead.

Sadly Dunewalker I had a chance to purchase that exact weapon for $200 bucks, from a friend of mine whose father past away a couple of years ago. I had no clue that it was worth something. Oh while you live and you learn.

There's a lot to be said for sawed-off shotguns, as anyone who's watched the "Terminator" movies can attest! Wouldn't be practical for me to carry, though, working in the woods, gardening, digging, carpentering, etc. _________________ "Actually, humans died out long ago."

I am now attempting to hedge a possible ban of semi-autos in my country. If I were to use Australia's model, all semi-autos will be trashed, and high cap models of non-semis (e.g. remington 7600 series) as well.
So far, only the .308/762x51 ammo only, together with all my 12ga firearm and ammo will be unaffected. I may be forced to go bolt on the .308, and/or expand the 12ga range. Better than nothing. Everything else will be cali-style management. I seldom do this in the open, but if anyone knows of a Marlin 39TDS .22 lever action, it would be much appreciated if you could contact me. _________________ regards,

Question about Wild Hogs: We're worried about the wild hogs in our neighborhood. Our new shotgun also comes with a rifled barrel as well as the regular barrel. Remington 870. What kind of ammo would you recommend to have on hand for feral hogs? _________________ "...powerdown so soft and fluffy you'll think you're living in a pillow." - jboogy

Thanks Specop. Unfortunately we have Cali-style laws here, so anything < 76.2cm in length is considered a pistol (needs another type of license, but this one won't be approved ...)

Ha, that's a scream! Except when you're looking at the business end of it as the bad guy. Apparently quite difficult to buy because of its NFA status. _________________ "Actually, humans died out long ago."

Its about the cheapest way to get into a firearm I know of. The Mosin aint the most accurate rifle ever made I wont lie on that. But it sure is fun to shoot. Yes, I have one. _________________ "Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the
