How then, do we move backwards? How does a society, with most of the people having no clue of future events, move from being dependent on a vast and intertwined network of goods and services produced by the indigenous people of whereever, to a local resource and renewable energy based society, and do so in the timeframe available (20-30 years using the most liberal extimates, 10-20 with resonable estimates, 5-10 with worst case scenarios), all the while prices on everything increasing, world politics getting more militaristic, governments continuously reducing civil liberties, shortages of goods on the market and weather patterns resembling bad Hollywood movies?

Hello-
Just like the slide action of a old Mossberg, we are long overdue on the maintenece of this thread. Two years and 59 pages later I would say it's time to restart this thread.
Please continue your gun converstions over here and you will notice the "Action" on this thread should be faster and jammed misfeeds will be a thing of the past.
Love and Bullets,
Mule _________________ In other words, it's a huge sh*t sandwich, and we're all gonna have to take a bite.-from Full Metal Jacket

Aww! I loved that the thread was 59 pages. I guess I'll resist the urge to merge this one with the prior. _________________ "I was born in a deep forest

Well uh you want to merge it that's ok. I manged to lock the thread and start a new one but had a little problem with the stickies. Let's just say what you see now was the most presentable than when I tried to monkey around with the stickies and got all tangled up .
A little help eh? Please?

Hey Mule I’ll put the instructions on how I fixed that in the place where you got the other instructions.
You know.
Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Hunting: .270 bolt-action for any larger game I'm likely to hunt when in the West, 12 ga for things that fly and deer hunting in the South, .22 lr for small game
Home defense: .45 1911, short-barrelled 12 ga pump
Carry: 9mm, .38 spl J-frame, .45 XD-45
Fun and SHTF: AR-15, AK-47, SKS and Garand for when in California
What? You say that's more than three? I guess I'll end the list here, then...

Personally, I'd say...Glock 19, AR15, '76 F150 4WD. _________________ "I was born in a deep forest

The only 3 weapons you'll ever need: .22 rifle, .38 revolver, assault wheelbarrow.
But if I couldn't get those, I'd probably take:
(1) AR (Colt 6920 w/ .22lr conversion kit for cheap practice and small game)
(2) Glock 19 (also w/ .22lr conversion kit)
(3) .308 precision bolt-action (still need to get one of these--maybe a Remington 700 LTR w/ Leupold scope).
Edit: Perhaps a small .45 with a large magazine instead of the Kel-Tec. _________________ "He who makes no mistakes isn't trying hard enough" Genghis Khan

Firearms are expensive here. With limit budget, the best would be :
1) 12ga Maverick 88 pump
2) .308 M1A springfield, socom 2
3) 9mm Glock 17/19 _________________ regards,
