Meanwhile, keep watching for shortage reports, because we should start seeing some sneak in this week, if our doom-o-meter is calibrated correctly.

How do you think nonprofit organizations will do with PO? I have developed a keen interest on this subject lately, because I've changed to a job within a large nonprofit organization.

Non-profit orgs covers a pretty wide swathe of possibilities. Can you be more specific? In general, NPOs rely on the generosity of others - wether that is lobbies or industry groups, governments and quasi-state corps, individual contributions, charitable organizations or religious groups. But in general NPOs financial health and therefore their ability to pay their bills and carry-out their mission rises and falls with the general economy.

I really wonder if MSF and the like will open refugee camps in the west, it could be.

But before that happens what we'll see is a massive pull out from the third world. The reason is simple, those organizations get their funding from governments or private donations, PO is very much likely to hold hands with a huge economic depression, once that happens charities will have to options, shut down or try to help their own people in the west.

As you may know we've made millions of people DEPENDENT on our charity supply. Lots of people eat, get health care and don't die thanks to nonprofit organizations, I'm talking international agencies. So here lies the catch, we helped them stay alive and as soon as we quit helping they are likely to die in large numbers, and by then we'll have our own problems too, a big mess if you ask me.

Given the level of complicity between NGO's and their backers at present, I can only expect more of the same when resources get tight.

I've never seen such a thing as a non-profit organization. They have to eat just as anyone else.
