| Looking for the pros and cons of a labor managed economy especially when compared with that of Yugoslavia. Thank you so much! |

Care to elaborate? People might not understand your question. |

I think I understand the question. It's "I'm a student who's been assigned to compare a managed labor (e.g., old Soviet) economy versus the local (modern) Yugoslavian economic model... can you guys please help me write it?"
IRMan - I don't know anything about Yugoslavia, but your assignment does sound interesting. What's is the Yugoslavian economic model presently like? |

Two points:
1..No stock holders, publicly owned, profit driven competition absent, non-cornucopian consequently, not as excitingly garish as the free market equivalent but, then again, less demanding of resourcing and consequently, less likely to be as prolific in the widget dispensing arena;
2...less innovative, less efficiency driven..but in the final analysis, when there's only one kind of supermarket in a city, the need for efficient use of resourcing is perhaps less critical in contrast to say, 15 competing and excessively resourced private alternatives. _________________ Bugger me, I hear oil's runnin out mate! |

Hahaha!
Yes, cutting peoples' heads off with saws certainly does decrease their interest in market efficiencies. _________________ Conform . Consume . Obey . |

I visited the USSR and Communist China back when they had pure socialist economies and they had outlawed all "excessively resourced private alternatives."
The government stores were empty and no one could find any food to buy, and the clothes looked like they were all made by idiots for cretins, and the glorious socialist housing, factories, mass transit, parks etc. were all hopelessly decrepit, but at least they didn't have to worry about wasting a kopek or a yuan in any garish and well-stocked "excessively resourced private alternatives." _________________ "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." -- George Orwell |

Capatilism is imperfect, and especially harsh to the unmotivated portion of the population. There is no better system.
Marxism will purge motivation out of all people until the system fails to produce even the bare minimum for survival. |
