The same can be asked of Big Brother, the various "Idol" shows and other crappy so-called reality based programmes. It almost makes you wish for a fast collapse just so we can be rid of this crap.

Just as Hubbert foretold, the contest peaked in about 1974, and has been declining in quality by about 3.5% p.a.

Despite technological fixes of electro, emo, rap and hip hop, all we're left with now are the dregs.
