Oil's energy contribution has declined by about 12% since 1999. The world's economies have also declined by about 12%. (Using conventional metrics, which are time delayed determinations, this will only be seen in hind sight). The massive destruction of asset values now occurring testifies to it happening.
Peak is well behind us, world economies have peaked and will continue to decline.
"Pentagon hawks have begun discussing military action against Iran to neutralise its nuclear weapons threat, including possible strikes on leadership, political and security targets.
With a deadline of tomorrow for Iran to begin an agreed freeze on enriching uranium, which can be used to produce nuclear weapons, sources have disclosed that the latest Pentagon gaming model for 'neutralising' Iran's nuclear threat involves strikes in support of regime change. Damn, I never thought I'd live to see WWIII. It's not fair, my grandfathers were supposed to be the last ones to see that type of crap. I'm going to reach peak will to live if this keeps up.
I say we do something like in that South Park episode. Mass suicide protest in front of the white house. _________________ Vision without action is a dream, action without vision is a nightmare.

Also, the American public wouldn't stand for it!
After Bush's reelection, I hate to say it, but I think they'll stand for anything. There are enough reds to support whatever happens. _________________ Vision without action is a dream, action without vision is a nightmare.

Military action against Iran results in the world market losing 4mb/d. What does that do to the aggressors. As much as the white house dislikes Iran and what they are doing, they dislike the consequences of losing their oil more.
Im just curious,if you were Iran and saw the Americans at your backdoor shooting and hollering yeehaa what would you be doing?probably building a few bombs to protect yourself and retaliate if they come bothering you.Its only natural. And if someone came to your country and said give me your oil along with a bunch of lame excuses for why you should give it up what would you do?Give it up? I think not.You would do the same thing the Iranians are doing right now,or probably much worse.Unfortunately thats the sad truth of it,so dont be hiding behind your finger. And now that Im all pissed off about this whole global issue. They had a hundred options on how to deal with their foreign matters .But a certain few wouldnt have profit.Lets face it people thats the truth of it.The only reason they arent dealing with peak oil and other energy issues is because the cash register is still working .and since theres money in Iran, you know whats gonna happen . _________________ ΜΟΛΩΝ-ΛΑΒΕ
Chocky: LOVE your point! But I'm not sure whether to or !
Though I know war's more technical than human now, you still need humans around as fodder for keeping the peace from hell. (If Iraq teaches nothing else, it's that!) Assuming a spring announcement of the return of the draft, it's gonna take much of 2005 to get enough fodder numbers to handle the entire Middle East-Middle Asia region ALONE. So as eager as Dubya & Co are to "bring it on" ( ), I doubt a military action in Iran will happen in 2005. In 2006, in time for mid-term elections, I dunno. But we've got "intelligence" and "special forces": they've GOT to get a covert mission right sooner or later; the odds dictate it. Some well-placed assassinations of conservative Imams here, a few financing of Irani "reformers" there--and who knows? Most of Iran's fosfuels are just on-shore, or offshore, so as long as what D&Co do in the Interior doesn't affect production on/off shore, I don't think they care much for what people think of their approaches. (How much worse can world opinion GET, anyway? )

The Bush administration is busily changing all personnel in cabinet, intelligence, etc. by eliminating those who question the party line with those who will agree and rubber-stamp anything the president and his inner circle want. This is EXTREMELY dangerous. Without people to present the opposing side of issues, hubris can take our leaders down a path of very dangerous consequences.
In the U.S. intelligence departments, those who analyze intelligence and present other intelligence that suggest outcomes of action contrary to the Bush administration's desired outcome are being replaced with those who will tell the president and his staff only what they want to hear. This is like taking a Sunday stroll and unknowingly walking through a minefield. If you don't have any idea what you're really facing, and the possible negative outcomes, disaster may be waiting right around the corner.
I've seen several articles lately reviewing how the Bush administration spins obvious failures to accomplish most of their goals in Iraq into successes. This troubles me deeply.

Well obviously it could get so bad that the rest of the world carries out a pre emptive strike on the US but we are still a little way away from that.
Face it you don't rip the US to shreds until you've unloaded those massive dollar reserves. And apparently people aren't buying the dollar anymore and are instead trying to sell it off in volume.

I hope those iranians will built that bomb as soon as possible, so everything will be put on rest... exactly like with North Korea. _________________ **no english mothertongue**
