Meanwhile, keep watching for shortage reports, because we should start seeing some sneak in this week, if our doom-o-meter is calibrated correctly.

Today Bush signed into law a bill that is infinitely worse than the Patriot Act.

What law?

I don't remember the exact name of the bill, but to paraphrase,it was something like "the intelligence reform act"

The current administration was pushing for some new homeland security act, many people refered to it as "patriot Act 2".This legislation was blatantly unconstitutional and was met with stiff resistence in congress.Being unable to get patriot act 2 passed, they took large chunks of the proposed legislation from it and slipped them into the new intelligence bill which DID get passed.

What it comes down to is this,so long as you are a U.S. citizen you are protected by the bill of rights, however,if you are determined to be an enemy combatant you automatically lose your citizenship and the bill of rights no longer applies to you. This may seem like a reasonable way to deal with the bad guys, but the problem is,the way they define "enemy combatant" is so broad and general that it could be applied to just about anyone.Having read a many posts on this message board I'd say a good many people here could fit the criteria for being labled "enemy combatant"which is what makes this legislation sooooo damn scary.

The problem with a one world government is that if that government happens to become a trannical, brutal, murderous dictatorship there's nowhere to escape to.

Many German Jews were spared the gas chambers in WW2 because they were able to flee to other countries like the U.K. and the U.S. .What do you suppose they would have done if Hitler had controlled the whole planet?

A big part of the NWO is surveillance or the big brother society. According to the theory we will all eventually have microchips inplanted under our skin to monitor us and cash will be erased in order to make way for a cashless society in which all transactions will be done on cards that provide us with credits. You basically put your card into a charge up point and then increase your credits on your card and spend it on anything you want. This of course means that all transactions are monitored. Singapore is aiming to become the first cashless society on earth by 2008.

Once again PO could scupper this plan because when the effects hit, most people seem to say that civilisation will go backwards therefore the technology for all of this surveillance will cease to exist.

Well, Happy Holidays to all my fellow enemy combatants, anyway! Very Happy

Seriously, it does look like quite a horse race: high-tech vs. PO/economic collapse: which will set up a cashless society first? If only this humor wasn't so dark, or so REAL.... Sad
