There is no "agenda" other than trying to prepare ourselves for the unfolding catastrophes.
The only time somebody got banned for their opinion was Leaf for over-the-top racism and current PO.com member "Xerces" for advocating 20 year sentences in forced labor camps for some kids who stole his precious little bike. Human trash like that can go elsewhere as far as I'm concerned.
And I would never - and I mean NEVER - let a spoiled brat 19 year old know-it-all be a forum moderator. That's just asking for your "tubes" to get clogged up with blatant asshattery and fantasy land delusions. _________________ http://www.peakoil.org |

No worries.
All I said was I had offered to host your forum for you; Where you could ban folks to your heart's content and doom out as you see fit.
|
Gotcha. Webhosting came with the order fullfillment package I signed up for with MRW so it just made sense to host it there. that why when something happens I have somebody I"m paying money to yell "why is dee forum down!"
It's kind of hard to bitch at somebody when they're providing you with services for free.

on matters of hacking, security, etc, it only makes sense.
On matters of doom? Never!

You're right about the different flavor. I want to shoot myself every time I look at your website it's so depressing.
But for raw XXX rated doomer porn, there is no better place. It's where I started my PO journey and had my initial bout of PO-related hopelesseness. You're like the tent revivalist who initially brought me to awareness.

Just make sure you've provided your next of kin with directions on how to use your carcass for worm compost. No point so much good organic matter going to waste. _________________ http://www.peakoil.org |

Are you referring to the survivalist flavor, eco-hysteria or the general rascism?

Now Matt....you as a barrister should know that you shouldn't lie and all....whaddaya say we go look for examples of people you banned because...say...you dropped a TV or some furniture on your foot!!
That definitely has nothing to do with opinions, now does it?

Tyler has more functioning brain power than an unemployed gym-rat right out of the gate, just imagine...he actually posts graphs and stuff relevant to the topic at hand!!!
Better yet, he can even think and argue!!! Which puts him up over not only the fearless leader of LATOC but 99.5% of its posters as well....I think Matt accidently didn't ban someone once....that guy was pretty smart but discovered pretty fast he wasn't welcome when it turned out to be important to have recipe for human ready to share! _________________ Freddy RULZ!

Any evidence that I've mistreated any of the members or applied the Code of Conduct unjustly in any instance?
Didn't think so.

This forum is definitely better than the LATOC forum as far as debate goes. There are some excellent posters over there like Old Horseman, but many pass through and move on.
Matt's PO primer on the home page is the best out there IMO.
The breaking news over there is top notch and there are worthy items, especially the books, for sale on that site.
The gardeners at LATOC are top notch too. They are doing it and passing on lots of good info there.

Maybe you should add that to your "How to Talk to Loved Ones About Peak Oil" article.
"And finally, honey, if the peak oil zombies get me and you survive, I want you to do everything you can to recover my carcass and butcher it for food for the other survivors or use it for compost. And honey [looking deeply into her eyes] I promise I will do the same for you if you don't make it."
But I do like your site. It's just so damned INVESTED in the idea that everything and everyone is TOTALLY SCREWED.
I thought you would take it as a compliment that your site made me want to shoot myself. Isn't that the kind of frantic overwhelming hopelessness and despair you are trying to instill in your visitors?
If you have kids one day I am trying to imagine Bedtime With Matt:
"Now honey, remember, you will never see adulthood. You will probably die as an adolescent in a peak oil related disaster. Trust me, though, I won't let them take you without a fight....Sleep good." _________________

I have to admit that the food/garden forum there is growing great guns. In the past few months it has become one of the better sub forums about on the web. A good place for us gardeners to hang out and exchange compost tips. |

ok so this was a really eye opening thread.......
Hey there fellow Aussie. I was doing an internet walkabout. Gardeners that cast shadows are the only ones to listen to.

Its rumored that TPTB decided LATOC is a threat to America...its creating way too many silly people for the mental health network for manage, so they were forced to bring it down in the hopes that the posters, upon getting bored with no one to feed them silly stories and breathless and whispered speculation, would go back on their meds, and thereby solve the problem. _________________ Freddy RULZ!

I was told yesterday, haven't heard anything since. My firm is closed on the weekends, people might be there in the building working on this but they're not going to be answering their phones. _________________ http://www.peakoil.org |
