Our government has pretty much closed up shop. We're not winning the war (or losing it, for that matter), we're not defending our borders, Congress isn't restraining the runaway power of the Executive, and in all likelihood the 18th will signal the end of the 2nd amendment. Not that it matters when nobody's going to come around and confiscate anything.
The gov't can print all the money it wants, but it looks like nobody's taking it anymore. That's pretty much all she wrote, isn't it. |

I have been away in KC for the last half of a year and along my journey I have met some good ole boys and let me tell ya they are locked and farking loaded.
Sadly, I currently see it as the only solution. The only way to keep crap in check after a true head rolling is to remain vigilant like TJ said "every 20 years or so".....
You know we are waiting seahorse, just waiting on a friend with the ability to set it off.....

I'd say you're in significantly more turmoil than you were in the 60's, it's just more contained. A triggering event, like Obama being shot, etc...could drive violent protests. |

Agreed, but depends what neighbourhood you're in. I agree with Eastbay that the left coast could foment a real socialist rebellion. Let's just hope that some form of decentralized democratic socialism prevails, not just new oppressors to replace the old ones. |

You been in the States lately? I returned to a wealthy liberal oasis near Seattle and the people there are very close to open revolt. Trust me, they're nearly all left, and many of them are armed. They don't talk about it. They don't have to. You can feel it.

They will initially join street protests, get shot, shoot back at the police, national guard, is a guess. Think of thousands of people, united, going postal. |

And how is a protest march, anarchy? There is an ideology in place, even if it's based around what most don't want, and that's eight more years of fascism lite. |
