We cannot drill our way out of this oil crisis. Since 2000, oil companies working in the U.S. have doubled the number of wells drilled per year.

Although increased drilling has added new oil to the nation's supply, it has not done so fast enough to offset the terminal decline of existing fields.

We are going to have to import more of our oil. Period.

My 401k is with Vanguard too, Joel.

Consider yourself lucky. My companies 401k is with another firm and the expenses are much higher. The only way I could move my 401k to a low cost firm like Vanguard would be to quit my job which I obviously wont do.

Though I can't complain because like yours my company offers a pension that doesn't cost the employees. I just wonder how much money will actually be in that pension when I qualify 40+ years from now. Confused
