We cannot drill our way out of this oil crisis. Since 2000, oil companies working in the U.S. have doubled the number of wells drilled per year.

Although increased drilling has added new oil to the nation's supply, it has not done so fast enough to offset the terminal decline of existing fields.

We are going to have to import more of our oil. Period.

Hi all!

I hope someone here can help me locate a certain document I read on the Internet a few years back. I have forgotten what the title was and where I found it back then. I had been reading a few books about the oil peak and browsed the web and found this document.

I got the impression that this document was a kind of school project or an essay of kind. It had a front page that was almost totally black. What I remember about the document was that it explained in a few steps what could happened when the oil runs out - what would happen to our societies and the world in large! It was divided up in chapters or sections - each chapter ranging a couple of years, like "the first year" and "the following five years" and "25-50 years into the future" and the last chapter was something like 200 years into the future... if I remember it right Smile

Does this ring any bells?

Thanks

/Gnovald

Thanks for all these tips and links, I have read a few minutes on http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/ and see how much one can learn from it. I have already printed the text and will read it tonight.

But after a couple of hours of sleep and a good walk to work this morning I finally remembered the title and found the site online.

It is the PDF document at the bottom of the page.

Thanks!
