When China stops making clothing for us and all the raw materials are gone, Calif* will be the first to go naked. Nude marriage to gay horses is the future!
hrm.
Us midwesterners prefer to be clothed.
Especially since we would all die at the start of October without coats.
I also expect California to be one of the first places to suffer from food supplies(not no food supply, just lack of.)

I go mostly naked now, just wearing shorts and a sports bra in the summer. Sorry, TMI, I know!
No gay horses, though. But this isn't California.
I would go naked, but the insects and the sun won't let me.
A vital tool for the outdoorsy person is a hat with ear flaps and a flap that covers the back of your neck. I discovered this type of hat some years back, and it's a godsend. Spray the outside with a little repellant and you're ready for the woods!
Not that I'm into brands, but I recommend "Buzz-Off" clothing for people who must confront bad bugs (like chiggers) for long periods. This clothing line has permethrin (supposedly a "natural" pesticide) chemically bonded to it. Buzz-Off clothing is expensive and I don't know if it's bad for you, but it works wonderfully. I've spent all day wading through Southern brush in summer and come away without a single bite. Sure beats Lyme disease or some other nightmare, like hundreds of chigger bites (in places I dare not describe).
The insect-repellant property is supposed to last through 25 or 30 washings. (That may be stretching it.) _________________ "Actually, humans died out long ago."

I am also learning how to felt wool, and it's fun!
It's kinda weird though.... we will have enough fabric to last us quite a few years, from what's already been created. If there is a die-off locally, there will be lots of second-hand clothing around. I don't feel like clothing will necessarily be a problem in the short term (1-20 years). It's AFTER that, that it'll be more problematic, when the cotton is showing it's wear and we are in rags (assuming cheap clothing imports dry up immediately). There's little incentive *right now* to learn skills that will be needed in the future. My family thinks it's really weird that I'm learning to felt and eventually spin and knit etc in order to WEAR the clothing, and not as a goofy hobby.
And it's kinda like that with many things, really. There is so much stuff lying around to be recycled, there is less incentive to CREATE. I fear even more skills may be lost, and the general population won't even be able to find info on skills on the internet due to electricity shortages, outages, rations or collapse.
Still surreal to consider.
But I'm still learning to felt and teaching my son! Hopefully he'll at least be able to keep himself in warm socks, vests and hats as an adult someday, lol!
