Thanks, BigTex, it's much easier in some ways to talk on a messageboard than in person, though thanks to pharmaceuticals my social anxiety isn't nearly what it used to be. I still consider myself rather poorly socialized, though. Can't do small talk very well. _________________ No original ideas are contained in this post.

Too many people here have a lot of pent up anger. They almost want PO to break out so they can start killing people (or eating them). Or at the very least, they are so bitter about what humanity has come to, that they want to see us go extinct.
Mos, I had a strange thought today regarding this statement. Here is another angle.
(speaking in generalizations) As adult children we understand that someday our parents will die. We love them and want them around and wish they would live forever. But they won't, and that hurts us, and it can make us feel angry at them. Because it is an inevitable hurt there can also be a wish to "get it over." That does not mean we hate our parents but that we hate the pain we will face. Intellectually, because we observe others, we know that once they have passed then we can heal and go on.
It struck me that there are, or may be, some parallels to the coming Die-Off.
Yesterday on the way home listening to NPR they did a long piece on a couple in China and their failed attempts to rescue their parents and baby. It made me cry. Yet intellectually I know that we are in overshoot and that great lessening the population is inevitable, even necessary.
I think that some of what we hear in this forum is people hashing out their ideas and emotions. Not always coherently. I think that the forum is a great mental health resource for where else could you deal with such issues? _________________ When going through hell, keep going! Churchill
