President Bush has told leaders of the oil-rich states of the Middle East that they must face up to a future without their precious hydrocarbons, says The Scotsman.
In a stark warning, he said their supplies were running out and urged them to reform and diversify their economies.

| Somehow still Bush comes off as arrogant fool. The world will have to do without but no mention of US having to go without. |

But he won't tell his own people that they must face up to a future without their precious cars.
Ironically he could actually salvage some shred of respectability as far as the history books go by levelling with the American people and telling them what a feces storm they are about to face, putting steps in to deal with the problem a la the Hirsch report.
But, he won't. |

| So on my "OH crap" meter, hearing Bush say something at that economic forum so openly about oil decline makes it rise a bit. So should I take this as one of the bigger signs that the proverbial crap will hit the fan within a year or so, if not this late summer? |

I'm sure the Saudis are thanking Allah that George was able to clear that up for them. |

Yeah, we were on that path when we were set to install American-designed nuclear reactors in Iran way back in 1978. I wonder what happened to those... _________________ "It's called the American Dream because you'd have to be asleep to believe it."
