NYMEX Crude Oil (Light) ........................121.20 5.64 NYMEX NYH RBOB Gasoline (Globex) ...... 3.0421 .1318

Don’t worry, just a little bump - $70 is just around the corner. Short traders just keep making those margin calls, mortgage the house if you have to. Fortunes await you! PO is for pansies and doomers. At $70 short some more ..... it is going back to $22 .... the world is awash with oil ........ reality has nothing to do with it, its all in those charts!!!!!!!!!!

Simple question ... if oil production has peaked will you still be around in 5 years?

You think the dieoff will take only five years? If it were that bad, then no, I doubt I'd survive it.

I plan to be around in five years, but I probably won't survive the die-off. I don't think we'll experience die-off quite that suddenly.

But, I may be wrong. Smile

Judging from what I saw in the aftermath of Katrina I wouldn't be too sure about die off being a slow process. Everything fell apart pretty quickly.

In nature die offs can happen quite quickly ... and as much as we might want to deny it we are all at the mercy of the laws of nature. If the land can't produce enough food or water to sustain a certain population then that population will be quite quickly reduced.

Just, five years from now seems a bit soon, to me.

Just sayin'.

Well now, in a die-off, the entire population doesn't necessarily die, just most of it! Confused

Have you considered the possibilty of extinction, not merely die off? Are you satisfied that the systems down trend, appearing as it does, to combine a mix of resourcing and environmental tipping points, will stop short of termination of the human species?

I voted no because I do not expect to survive the die-off. However, it better be more than five years down the road... Shocked

Will I still be around in 5 years? Good question. We'll see. So far doing a really good job at accumulating knowledge so have a chance. Where we live the deer seem to know whats edible about as good as (and certainly more than me) so have to think about how to live around them (master foragers). Need to know that if there was no food I'd be able to survive on tubers, wild greens, even worms, bugs, etc if I had to. Just merrily preparing for a crash, though I hope we have more sense than that and the world does it best to make for a peaceful future. But I'm not taking any chances... Oh, if the worms, bugs things depressed you, I have a good movie to watch - Rattatoule. Many of these things we will only wish for post peak :>

There's still going to be a LOT of oil being produced in 5 years. There will be some people who won't have access to it and may well be dieing off by then, but it probably won't be the people on this list. The average Haitian peasant may be in a world of hurt by then. People with computers and high speed internet, by in large, will be bitching about prices, but by in large they will be safe and well fed.

extinction is a bit far fetched...the probability of 6.7 billion people ALL dying is really really low.

deer eat things you couldnt begin to.

"by in large safe and well fed" in 5 years is.....well there's always the possibility you'll be kept alive as slave labor Razz I suppose that qualifies as by in large safe and well fed.

As for my personal answer to the question....Im better prepared than 99+% and its still a big unknown. Toooo many possibilities and the reality will likely be unexpected no matter how much i think about it. Not that i ever worry about dying...
