Since you've brought up the subject of tags, though - what are the thoughts about some sort of tags to encourage better posts? For example, Hogan, you've started some outstanding threads - the one about bank failures being a recent example. What mechanisms could encourage more quality?
Thanks Jack. I really like the idea of year 2004 members having a special tag. Kind of like a commemorative mark showing that we were here from the very beginnings of PO.com. Many here were mocked and laughed at for so long for being nutty peak oil 'cult' believers. I noticed a lot of 2004 members left (or stopped posting), but some remain active. The day of vindication has arrived.
Maybe a tag for members who regularly start quality or popular threads would be good. Some possible tags: Gold medal, rusty gasoline pump, fallen over or broken oil rig, etc.
Maybe this whole idea of special tags seems stupid to some, but I thought it might add some fun and variety to this site. And maybe it will in some ways encourage more quality posts, as you said.
