Hawaii is understandable but Atlanta??
They used to have the lowest gas price in the nation for a while.. So what happened? |

The hurricanes shut down some of the key pipelines for a while.
This lead to extremely low inventories and shortages at some stations.
Supply<Demand = higher prices. _________________ "www.peakoil.com is the Myspace of the Apocalypse." |

The Colonial pipeline runs from Houston/Baytown TX to the North East US. This pipeline is the primary supply for refined products along it's route.
Ike disrupted operations of the refineries which normally feed the Colonial.
Hence Atlanta and several other South East US cities are under supplied. |

Expensive? How much would you have to pay to have someone PUSH your car 20 miles? |

$3.97 for gas versus $20 to use human labor sounds like a good deal to me. The job gets done faster too. |

| Atlanta has different emission standards than any other city and use different gasoline that comes as far as I know, exclusively from texas. The hurricane boned the refineries so they have very little of the gas they are allowed to use. |

My question is, if there's shortages in Atlanta, why isn't gas MORE expensive there?
Seems like if they upped it to $8 a gallon then the stores could keep it in stock. _________________ "So while you sit and whistle Dixie with your money and your power.
