I'm serious, I wanna know, who here is going to get off their ass and go protest for the removal of their representative if they vote for it?
I hope we dont get a bunch of smoke blowing in here because I know tension is running high right now, but seriously do you have a plan to organize a protest if this passes or will you site there and bitch about it?
Anyone plan on calling them?
Just voting against them come re-election?
Anything else?
Note: please dont make violent threats on here, it wouldnt be appropriate. _________________ Tired of high gas prices? Then stop driving to work, duh..... Learn to Work from home

People will do nothing or very little. Very few get up and protest the wars. Both candidates support the wars and both support this bailout. What else is there to say? _________________ Got Dharma?

well I only have the one congressman and he voted against it last time. My senators split on it with the socialist voting against it. Protesting against a Dem. congressman in Vt would be a complete waste of time so if he switches his vote Friday I will finish digging my potatoes and store them away in the root cellar very carefully. By Nov. 4 we will know if this has worked or not and thats what has those congressmen so nervous. It may be the only issue that matters by then. |

Not surprising since I'm for the bailout, but for the most part, those against it won't do anything either. _________________ Yes, we are. As we are.

Am expecting the house to pass the bailout this time round. The senate passed it 74 to 25. Folks will be irked if they do not and that will be reflected in another several-hundred point drop in the DOW. (Folks get irked if they expect something and that is taken away from them or just not given.)
There should be a brief rally in the stock market that will last for a week to 10 days. After that there will be a renewed decline brought on by the usual concerns over tight credit, falling housing prices, declines in auto sales, more bank failures (National City) etc. This should bring the Dow down to around 10,000 to 10,500 by late October at which level it will stay through early November. That will be a good opportunity to buy more stock in Noble Corporation, Helmerich and Payne, Cameron, Smith International, Transocean, Diamond Offshore, Ensco, National Oilwell Varco, Atwood Oceanics etc.

With or without passage...I will still buy a squeeze of hay this weekend and ten cords of wood.
I will also fence a 1 acre grassy knoll for our goats...slaughter about 6 rabbits and gather about 6 dozen eggs before Monday.
See they don't care about me and I don't care about them...I have better things to do with my time.
Oh and help my son site in his 243 for the deer hunt in 3 weeks. _________________ 500 MPH into a brick wall - me |

Absolutely nothing.
Sit back and watch the eventual economic carnage to follow.
That's the way it is these days, nobody protests anymore, the Sixties are long gone.
People are too busy worrying about Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton. |

That is election day when every last one of our useless congressman is on the chopping block along with a third of the senile senators. |

Aarghh rocc.... I'm disapointed....
I think I will do more than just vote them out...
I gonna start by emailing and faxes them and congratulate them on going against the will, ya know thank them for supporting us
Then every time something continues to go wrong and we loose money/freedom after the bill passes I will remind them, "hey its our money on the line right now, thank you!"
I will also find out when and where a protest is to be held when they return.
Then come re-election time I will make sure to vote for someone else, which will be a moot point by then.
I have not completely given up yet, I still believe this nation could be great... At least manage to save its core values from being bought off one by one. _________________ Tired of high gas prices? Then stop driving to work, duh..... Learn to Work from home

I wish I could muster the hope that compelled me in the past to activate. I have done the street protesting, leafleting, calling my political peeps, emailing them, snail mailing them, and otherwise cried and pleaded to those I thought I could influence.
I used to think my vote mattered. Not any more.
Solutions regarding voter fraud during the past two presidential elections and how to stop it from happening again have not been addressed.
I still believe my vote counts in my local (county) elections but at this point, if there is a national election, I am not going to bother.
Yup, that's right, I plan to throw my soiled sanitary napkin into the sullied political ring and call it a day.

Protesting seems to have become ineffective most of the time. Money is the only thing that matters. _________________ "Every junkie's like a setting sun..." - Neil Young |
