Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Around 10 workers laid off this afternoon, ~17% of the workforce.

(not me, though - yet Smile )

Sad

After 25 years with the same company...I got laid off on August 1st. (no worries...I'm financially stabil & they're still mailing me a paycheck for several more months (severance)).

Anyhoo...my point is, I was an I.T. dept of ME! ALONE! There was nobody else...How they're functioning now is anybodies guess. I have no malice against them & I hope they're doing well...but this is the FIRST real summer vacation I've had since Jr. year of high school & damn...I'm enjoying it! (not to mention, it's giving me time for preps like i've never had before). Smile

Recession is here...depression soon to come.

Now pretend you were one of the people getting terminated today. Assess your situation. If you are looking pretty decent fine. If you are like OH SH*T, you need to re prioritize your prepping so you are not in the OS category.

I lost mine about 6 weeks ago got a new one 2 weeks ago. Luckily or unlucky? for me I've always worked for small employers who are usually doing ok / not public and running on debt but at the same time less pay / benefits

I've applied for about 60 jobs in the last 2 months. I'm still unemployed. Good thing I still have money saved up else I'd be screwed.

Yep, I am in the OH SH*T category right now. *shudders*

Funny thing is, I would probably be well set in 3-6 months. Ugh.

My local county here in Georgia,USA is forcing ALL county employees to take one unpaid day off per month due to budget shortages.

But of course, they just opened a multi-million dollar water park (and in the middle of a severe drought) which will cost tons of $ to operate each year.

Wake up folks!

HOW THE HELL CAN SOMEONE NOT FIND A JOB IN 60 MONTHS (5 YEARS!!!!)???????????

Simple, you are not looking.

Getting a job is easy, if you have any skills. If you don't have any skill or skills that matter now. McDonald's always appears to be hiring. There is also the lucrative field of teleservice representation.

I assume you are replying to HubbardsPeak? In that case, read it again, he said 60 Jobs in two months, not two jobs in 60 months.

Geez, is everybody on here getting drunk while posting?

What the hell, they said 60 jobs, not 60 months. Apparently you replied to somebody and also failed to read the post?
