Since we are heading for a hard crash soft landing, don't you think that Bush administration will be happy to cancel elections "for a while"?
Perhabs Bush administration precipitated the crash (since they knew it was unavoidable) in order to remain in power.
My hypothesis would mean that either banks would collapse or some huge terrorism show would happen this month. |

Yeah right!
Bush canceling election, Obama will kill him if he does. |

Why the hell would they?
Is it really that much fun?
Raise the Mission Accomplished banner.
Leave it to the black guy, do a Vaudeville dance to the chopper, then non-stop to the armed compound in Paraguay. _________________ At 1% annual growth, human bodies will incorporate every gram in the observable universe in approximately 10,170 years. |

Why Paraguay Lawn??? We have enough oil and NG in TX to last us 300 years....as long as we don't export it. Might be getting close to the time to let the courts decide if the original charter by which Texas VOLUMTARIALLY joined the Union does allow Texas to withdraw from the USA. It's an old urban legend but it is based on some facts. There have been some of those original rules that have been followed. One prevents the Federal gov't from owning land in TX. Yep...no Fed parks, reserves, mineral rights, BLM, etc in TX.
Add to that there are more guns in Tx than any other country except Russia and China. I think the bushbaby would be quit comfortable living out his golden years here. |

Because when everything does finally come crashing down, there won't be any place in the US that will be safe for him. That ranch in Paraguay isn't an investment property.
Will there be elections? Well, there are "elections" in Zimbabwe and Russia too. Elections don't really mean much. _________________ The whole of human history is a refutation by experiment of the concept of "moral world order". - Friedrich Nietzsche |

I was saying Paraguay, specifically because the Bush family bought 100,000 acres there, just about two years ago, and have been rapidly building a compound. I took it as a hint. _________________ At 1% annual growth, human bodies will incorporate every gram in the observable universe in approximately 10,170 years. |

I knew about the land/aquifer purchase, but where did you get the info about "rapidly building a compound?" Thanks. _________________ "Every junkie's like a setting sun..." - Neil Young |

| Yes, there will be elections. Bush wants to go home, he's had enough. I don't think it matters much who's next. |

Thousands of votes have already been cast, thanks to early voting laws. In my area, we are free to vote early at the elections office anytime up until Oct 31. After that, you have to wait for Nov. 4
The financial crisis is obviously giving Obama a boost.
The good news for the GOP is that they will have someone to blame as the mess grows worse in 2009.
I heard this sentiment on the radio today here in the good ole God-fearing Southern USA. The local host said that there was really no way to prevent what we are seeing now (and what got us here to start with). Then some old grandma called in to complain that everyone always blames the President for everything. Then the host joked about XYZ team losing the big game and how "Ha ha that must be Bush's fault also!" Hosts chuckle. ha ha ha
We're doomed. |

You've just been given a demonstration of how myths and urban legends develop. |

I've read that the Paraquay property sits on a large deposit of water, no source. _________________ Summertime, and the livin' is easy... |

It's an underground aquifier. One of the largest in the world, in fact.

I'll make the same off I did to Roc:
If there are no elections I'll quit posting,
If there are then whoever takes my bet will quit posting.
Any takers or are you all just talkers? _________________ Make a plan and work it: |

Ah, so it's an underwater compound! All the better to escape the nuclear blasts and the zombies!
I found a pic:
