Although increased drilling has added new oil to the nation's supply, it has not done so fast enough to offset the terminal decline of existing fields.

We are going to have to import more of our oil. Period.

Someone ought to promote that around, it might start to make nuclear more familiar and therefore less something to be all scared about.

This leads to thinking of something like a "Sim Grid," where you have a regional power grid and your objective is to build out and maintain supply across a wide range of power sources and conditions.
