Mysterious Scientology Project Raises Questions in Wyoming
Wednesday, Feb 11, 2009:

SWEENEY CANYON, Wyo. — The construction began last summer, stirring up dust that wafted down this desert valley and into a small community of off-the-grid homes.

As many as 20 heavy trucks a day hauling construction materials and equipment rumbled down the valley's main gravel road, passing into a gate marked with a "No Trespassing" sign. Helicopters flew in sling loads of cargo. Powerful work lights lit up the valley at night.

Public planners in southwest Wyoming's Sweetwater County — a sagebrush expanse roughly the size of Massachusetts — say the contractor hired for the project has told them it intends to build a 22,000-square-foot underground storage vault to store documents.

Whose documents exactly? Apparently, the writings of the late L. Ron Hubbard, the Church of Scientology's founder, and other church records.

But plans remain vague. County land use planner John Barton said the county also has been told the vault might hold any number of things besides documents.

"We've had everything from underground housing of sheep or hay," Barton said. "We've had cemetery discussed. We've had mining discussed."

The contractor, International Ground Support Systems of Santa Fe, N.M., also has said it plans to build a 3,500-square-foot caretaker house and an airstrip, county officials say. But they allege that IGSS has failed to apply for two required permits for work done so far.

If they are going through that much bother they better put something in there more valuable than just L Ron's ramblings.

Good thing they're putting all their "scared" documents in one place - makes it easier for folks to come along and blow it up...LOL.

Scientology is a nasty, nasty cult...the sooner it can be stamped out of existence, the better.

Why do you think they are building vaults? They know what we all know. Trouble is on the horizon and they are getting ready for it. This kind of project should not be a shocker to anybody.

I would say that I am surprised they did not build these things sooner but it seems like the rich were not paying any attention until the Madoff scam broke. The world has a new layer of instability. Anybody with half a brain is getting ready for some hard times.

This is classic scientology.
The 'Thetans' getting a 'Handle' on a 'Situation' brought about by ignorance of the almighty L. Ron

What a hideous thought! To survive the apocalypse with a bunker full of these guys!

Why are't they following in the great teacher's footsteps buying up freighter ships for conversion to 'Inalienable Territory'?

Possibly they think they won't be able to fuel them?

(No offense to actual real scientologists; each to their own)

Just how much writing did this guy do? 8O

I tried to read "Dianetics" back in the early 80's, and it was impossible, he was overly verbose, I started to wonder where his points were leading to, it was a maze of half-baked ideas, I gave up after about 200-250 pages. I did get the point it was clearly ego-driven.
I wonder how "clear" L.Ron Hubbard was.

Fallout (the video game) anybody?

In Fallout 2, hubologists were the parody of scientologists. Turns out, they did play the game and now are copycatting the famous franchise. This info is really stupefying (and entertaining at the same time).

I doubt that they are hiding records in all these places.

My best guess is that they are making provisions for survival when the SHTF.

Those marking are not by mistake nor is it odd that so many of them have taken flying lesson. Everything is real neat, quick and easy for a smooth Bug Out when the time comes.

Think what you want about them but they are smart and it seems they are prepared.

The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

I gave up before page 3... and I was just reading it out of curiosity (to "know the enemy").
