He actually does care! Shocked

Quote:
Vice President Dick Cheney has canceled a planned trip to Canada's main energy producing region because of Hurricane Katrina, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers said on Sunday.

George Noory on Coast to Coast AM last night brought up a good point:
"WHERE OH WHERE has Cheney been since Katrina hit??"

Maybe he's been doing everything possible to get the oil pumping again?

It's almost like he's fell off the face of the earth..

Any ideas where he might be or what he's been doing?

Chuck

Biggest disaster this country has ever had and not a peep from him. Given that the people were upset by Bush's response to the disaster don't you kind of think Cheney should at least make one lil appearance? Yes, his visit to Canada has apparently been cancelled but cancelled by whom? I've also heard he is on vacation. That cannot possibly be the reason we have not heard from him. He wouldn't have the nerve to say "I'm on vacation. You guys handle it and don't bother me." Something seems wierd here to me. Where is Cheney?

Obviously he was busy hooking up Halliburton with disaster work. It's been done so he can come out now.

Cheney is a fat useless prick. It doesn't matter where he is.

yeah, they don't need that crumby oil sands rubbish, that was just a pump and dump operation. i have never seen so many hyped up smei spam news letters pouring into my mail box about bloody canadian oil sands.

now watch the real oil flow like water from nowhere.........

suddenly all this extra capacity is going to appear as if by magic........

it's all a con job the whole thing.

oil may run out, peak or no peak, that doesn't stop massive manipulation and fear mongering going on.

Cheney is working with the Mossad on the next massive false flag terror attack. The US public's knee jerk support for the Bush/Cheney regime has gradually tapered off after 9/11. So the US junta will strike again and hard. Look for half a dozen US cities, one in every region, to get hit by dirty bombs. Iran will quickly blamed, and nuked in retaliation.

yeah, another "attack", that's the spirit. Probably in 2007 when the term is coming to an end, the stock market, treasury bonds and the USD are collapsing without Greenspans tricks to balance the ever more unstable house of financial cards.

They'll need to combine that with a state of emergency, martial law and postponing the elections, for a short but ever extended amount of time. GW is only young, they can run on for 10-20 years in a fascist distatorship.

Sacrifice one unimportant city like Denver or the wretched liberal Boston, but uncover terrorists with suitcase nukes teaming in all the other cities, quickly caught just in the nick of time, by the jack boots of the HomeLand "uber alles" Security.

While everyone is in a feeding frenzy of media stories about the near misses + dreadful disaster, instigate a Pinochet / Hussain style cleansing of political oponents, all swept into ultra secret security facilities........no wonder Clinton wants to keep on such good terms with the Bushies.............

I love Clintons statements at the whitehouse the otherday, oh, this is not about politics for me.............. of course an ex-democratic president should be helping out a disaster of a hard right wing junta...........especially when they plan to lock up all their oponents shortly..........how else can he guarantee his supply of Viagra and an never ending ream of secretaries to do what Hillary won't.

Wait. So Cheney is in the basement of some waterlogged tenement building in new orleans doing unspeakable things
. Her name is Burtin. So W walks in with this two headed dog that he got from some Archer Daniels.
Oh, did I forget? The two-headed dog also has
. Right!. So Bush walks in while Cheney is
and Bush has this double headed,
mutt on the end of a long chain and he says,
he says to Cheney.

"Wanna have fun bro?"

And Cheney, who is engaged
says no but this is one hellava Burtin. Get it? Hellava Burtin?

kinda like The Aristocrats. Huh?

Deletions by Backstop for graphic descriptions - otherwisw known as gratuitous obsenity. See CoC.

Wait a minute. Is the point of this thread:

+> Cheney was going to Canada, ignoring NO, therefore hes evil!

or is ti

+> Cheney cancelled his Canada trip to make a cynical photo-op in NO, therefore he's evil!

or is it:

+> This thread mentioned Cheney, so it's a chance to say that he is evil!

I mean come on, can you put some substance behind your arguments? What do you want from this guy anyway?

Cheney is merely reaping what he's sown, GreyGhost. He's the assistant emperor of the new Evil Empire; therefore, he must indeed be evil himself, just as Goering was complicit in Hitler's crimes.

When millions of Caucasian types are dying of thirst and starvation in a baking, energy-starved, environmentally wrecked world, I think Cheney and his ilk will be universally condemned and seen as evil then as we view Hitler/Goering today. It's all a matter of perspective.

Was it Cheney who said the answer to the oil shortage was to consume more? I think so. What a great guy.

I would worry more about the Chinese than I would Dickless Cheney, they will kill more Americans and Canadians than Halliburton. And they were given American knowhow and technology by Slick Willy.

Cheney comes up to Alberta and British columbia on a regular basis. His trips are unofficial. He likes to get out to remote areas without the need for security and do some fishing.

Cheney is the only voice of sanity in the Bush administration. He was wrong about Iraq but when it comes to energy he has a good understanding of the industry.

In September he had planned to be here in Calgary to meet with oil industry execs and then was going up to the tar sands for some on the ground tours and then was to off to B.C. for some hydro electric meetings (then fishing). Otherwise, he was doing practical nitty-griity stuff to help secure future U.S. supplies of energy.

Unlike Peak Oilers, the energy industry here is not concerned with lack of supply but too much oil coming on line in the next two decades. Pipelines are being researched for shipments of oil to the west coast and then for sale into the Asian market. The Chinese have indicated they will get involved in pipeline financing and are currently on a shopping trip for Canadian energy companies. Americans should be glad they have some one as high as a VP with his sleeves roled up and is looking after their interests.
