I wonder how bad it will be when our society will start to fall. And what will be the consequences.

I'd like to hear everyone's scenarios.

I don't know if my scenario would stand out particularly from that of other doomsayers, but if you want a good example, there is plenty of film and literature out there that will paint a picture for you.

Just think of the Cold War, how many books and films were produced with a post-apocalyptic scenario, or preachy nuclear war message? I don't know how people didn't get absolutely sick of the same messages getting drilled through their heads for four decades. Who knows, thats probably what ended the war. Wink

Anyway, here are some things you might like to consider watching/reading:

Videos:
Any Mad Max film
The Day After (not to be confused with the recent disaster film)
Threads
The Sum of All Fears
The Postman - if you can stomach it

Akira <---Had to throw that in there, cause its anime. And ironically enough, the most positive post-apocalyptic outlook in the list.

Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of right now.

Books:
Dr. Bloodmoney (Philip K. Dick)
The Puppet Masters (Robert A. Heinlein)
Alas Babylon (Pat Frank)

oh and here's an especially interesting place to visit: http://johntitor.com/

There are a few threads on this topic, search the forums, probably not to difficult to find.

At least you can do that if this thread doesn't attract enough attention

Insofar as pop film culture "predictions" are concerned, "Blade Runner" is, IMHO the most probable, most accurate image of our future. (Albeit sans the flying cars, and with a much higher percentage of epicanthic folds...)

Of course, opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one...
