Bill Buckley writes about our energy future in his latest article. While he falls short of calling peak, he seems to grasp the situation.
"The planet is ours, but the planet, for all that it gives us so much abundance, is closing in on the question of energy, so that before long we will need the sun and the wind to keep us mobile."

He might just get it, but it's obvious from that statement that he has a ways to go before he's got it completely. It sounds to me like he's still praying for a technological solution to what is a social problem. I'm guessing he still thinks there's a chance that life will go on as usual, but the cars will just look different.

I'd say the cars probably will look different - after all, I don't see too many cars out there today with a team of horses hitched to the front _________________ After fueling up their cars, Twyman says they bowed their heads and asked God for cheaper gas. There was no immediate answer, but he says other motorists joined in and the service station owner didn't run them off.
