How then, do we move backwards? How does a society, with most of the people having no clue of future events, move from being dependent on a vast and intertwined network of goods and services produced by the indigenous people of whereever, to a local resource and renewable energy based society, and do so in the timeframe available (20-30 years using the most liberal extimates, 10-20 with resonable estimates, 5-10 with worst case scenarios), all the while prices on everything increasing, world politics getting more militaristic, governments continuously reducing civil liberties, shortages of goods on the market and weather patterns resembling bad Hollywood movies?

Sounds like a good book; I am keeping my eyes open for a good deal on such a book in the summer sidewalk sales around my area.
You may be interested in the book, Vinegar, 1001 Practical Uses. Everything from cleaning, cooking, medicinal, miscellaneous (getting rid of fruit flies!, etc.) uses of vinegar in this book. Only cost me $10.

Thank you. I will look for the vinegar book.
Last year, my younger son had developed a problem with acid reflux.
I was watching tv one night and saw an item about people treating it wrong. Instead of stuffing one's self with tums, take a teaspoon of vinegar. Darn, if it didn't work for my son..
(the premise being that acid reflux is when the stomach does Not produce enough stomach acid, instead of everyone thinking that it produces too much..)

I was told about that many years ago, but it was recommended to use cider vinegar. Works like a charm and although the initial taste is nasty, the aftertaste isn't bad. _________________ Kind regards, Katkinkate
