I read in a local paper that gas prices has almost tripled in QLD.
I always thought Australia has natural gas and doesn't import.
Why the skyrocket prices?

Opportunism. Also the suppliers would argue that if they can flog it off overseas for a higher price why should they lose profits by selling it here at a discount/loss.
