KMO does an interview with Kunstler as well so it's a good one to play while you're surfing this site. I've been listening to a lot of KMO lately and I have to say he does a very interesting show, although sometimes I wish he spent more time with certain guests.
I listened to Episode 67 earlier today, for example, with Nate Hagens from the Oil Drum (year old) and it was clear that he barely scratched the surface of what Nate had to say. Hopefully, he'll have him on again.

Thanks for the link, S!
The speech by Kunstler was a great summation, to-date, of the problems at hand - not overly apocalyptic, just poignant and serious. _________________ "It's called the American Dream because you'd have to be asleep to believe it."

"regular suburbia is coming off the menu"
The man has read my mind. Your "freedom" to choose where you live has always been bound by what is being offered, not by what is possible, or even what would be objectively preferable. The "menu" has consisted of conventional sprawl for some 50 years now, with only a small resurgence of traditional urbanism in the past couple of decades. So, as a society, we've collectively sidled up to the trough, lapped it up, and convinced ourselves of our contentment with the situation. Well, not anymore. _________________ "It's called the American Dream because you'd have to be asleep to believe it."
