If it (our current conditions) crashed tomorrow...just what type of folks would you had wished you had put forth the effort to hook up with before hand?????
Do you really think...you could get through a prolonged (60 days and on....) crisis yourself or with just a couple people? Really???
Just wondering if anyone has truly thought all this through.... |

What, hook up with survivalists? Who else has 60 days of MREs? Mormons, maybe.
Are you talking no electricity/fuel/food/supplies? Within a month even the LDS members would probably get torn limb from limb, before the marauders are wiped out by corpse spawned pathogens. _________________ Cogito, ergo non satis bibivi

I'd be okay... for as long as my ammunition and rolled oats lasted.

Uh oh... Here come the grasshoppers!

I haven't had success hooking up with anyone. We talk to some neighbors, usually every day, but not about peak oil. Usually about dogs, deer, tractors, sheep, things like that...
Got any tips on how to hook up with the right people?
No, none of us has thought any of this through. Not hardly much at all. Nope. _________________ "...powerdown so soft and fluffy you'll think you're living in a pillow..." - jboogy |

I'm pretty sure, like 100%, that my neighbors think i'm insane.
If it crashed tomorrow i'd be screwed. _________________ "Oil is going up because we use too much oil, and the capacity to replace reserves is dwindling"

It would be a crash program to get some of the last items implemented, but we wouldn't go hungry, nor lack for support. Yeah, we thought about it, us and a number of friends and relatives. Our network is in place and functioning daily. Some are better prepared than others, but nobody is too far behind. It helps that we live in a poverty area where people mostly live the way they did 50+ years ago. Lots of wood stoves, gardens, farmers, and hunters. Pretty tough lot out here, and they believe in skinning their own skunks. _________________ Local fix-it guy.. |

| I skinned skunks I caught trapping years ago. It's a tough way to make $5-$7 back then. |

Sorry dude, I'm kinda laughing, because evidently, you haven't read very much here. The social aspect, as well as everything else. has been exhaustively explored.
Please, do a little reading, you'll find all manner of subjects, from terrifying to enlightening. Above all, don't panic! |

The bunker looks nice, just remember it only works as long as you keep the door shut.

| My wife and I have enough food and water for 6 months. Need to get more of everything, but I only just started seriously prepping 2 months ago. |
