Um....well i heard about this Arabic school set up by Brits in Tarim, a city in Yemen, and WHAT a city it is :D
Im definitly going back there, ive never met nicer people than there...excellent atmosphere aswell, depends why you go though, if you go for a holiday wanting to enjoy yourself you wouldn't be very pleased, if you go for Deen, then it's a whole nother story
And prior to that, i havent been abroad for 14 years, since i was 5. so it was a great experience. Everyone else in my family has been abroadmany times, but circumstances didnt permit me to go

Say, do you have any ideas on where a young Muslim gal could safely relocate to weather the transition? I've been thinking Central America, but I have reservations about that. Otherwise, I'm stumped. _________________ American by birth, Muslim by choice, Southern by the grace of God!
Well, Central America is a bit unsafe in my opinion, you have Columbia, which has one of the highest muder rates in the world, and I don't think post=peak, that will get any better.
Venezuela could get very unstable too, due to political reasons and because it is the 5 largest oil producer in the world.
I would personally stay here in Scotland, mountains (in the highlands), relaxed people, no guns, declining population anyway, and I like my house, but can get very cold at times, and we have an electrical subway system, which would come in very handy :D
Where do you originally come from? You could do well there....

Colombia and Venezuela are South America, not Central America. Actually, I was thinking of Belize when I said that I was considering Central America.
I'm originally from California, but my family has deep roots (6+ generations) in Baltimore. I'd really like to be in a rural area when TSHTF, so that doesn't help me much. _________________ American by birth, Muslim by choice, Southern by the grace of God!

Wouldn't go there if I was you. Belize City is nice, but that's about it.
Although Belize is pretty stable you've Guatemala on the other side of the border and that country is already a heavily armed mess, which could well spill over the border.
On the other hand I think for a muslima the country is pretty good. I got the impression that the Muslims, Christians and Rastafari get along quite well.

Belize has some long term challenges and in the end may overwhelm it. For starters it is vulnerable to hurricanes, which have in the past, flattened it. Second, Belize is fighting a losing demographic battle with its neighbor, Guatamala. Peak oil aside, irridentism and a higher Hispanic birthrate is transforming Belize from an English-speaking, majority black country to a Spanish-speaking, mestizo/indigenous one. With this fact and Guatamala's longstanding claim to Belize, I could forsee either voluntary annexation to guatamala or failing that, war.
Avoiding a place like this may be in your best interests.
Maybe try Costa Rica, or better yet, one of the Carribbean island nations. Many of those have a stronger immigrant tradition. For example 95% of Costa Ricans came from somewhere else (they or their ancestors I mean). Similar stories exist in the Caribbean. _________________ UNplanning the future...

I have read a lot of polical things like partiot act from the USA as i dont live in the USA i would like to know what other countries have things that retrict freedom and create a police state.
also what is the view of other people on which place is the best to live in a post peak world in the form of overregulations and violence.
iam currently in australia in melbourne but iam moving for the long term to bangkok in thailand next year which will be better post peak.
in melbourne i livewith my mum and dad in a large house with a big garden close to a high frequency electric train line
in bangkok it will be a small apartment in a tower hoever my boyfriend owns a large farm 10 hours train ride from bangkok and my boyfriend has farming skills

Too many people on a too small island. Almost no place for agriculture and no natural resources. Environment is heavily destroyed around here... And the neighbourgs don't look that friendly _________________ Not mother tongue. Sorry for the mistakes.
