I've been watching the active oil price chart, which the webmaster has included on the front page of Peakoil.com.
However, the prices in that chart are consistently above the real prices. So where does this chart come from? My suggestion: a link to the source would be interesting.
At this moment, the price for light sweet crude is $47.39pb (see Bloomberg energy), while Peakoil.com's stat shows §49+.
Both are real time sources. Whence the difference? |

My understanding is that there are different prices out there. London and NY both trade in sweet light (which is what PO.com claims to track). Newspapers etc. often post other numbers such as WTI or OPEC basket crude, which go for lower prices.
I just look at the ballpark and think, "yep, energy is still too cheap." |

| Thx Aaron, that's a great resource. Now I have to find out how to embed such a chart in a website. |

| Could we have the "Light, Sweet Crude Oil" graph on the front page sized at 100% of the original? The current resizing makes it very difficult to read the prices on the vertical axis. It is currently sized at 150x93, and the original GIF is 165x102. That is not that much of a difference for readable text. |

I agree, that would be helpful. |
