For a minute there I thought I had to get off my couch, when all the while the fact is we don't have to do anything much but keep things afloat for just a few decades more! In fact, we'd best shut up about PO, because if our offspring finds out we knew about it all along, they'll turn and wring our necks come 2036!

I appreciate the need for some topics to be sticky for easy access, but what is the point in having 11 of them in one forum? There are already an overload of Katrina threads, and now they are all stuck to the first page!

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

No offense Moderators, but how about combining them or at least unsticking all but one or two of them? I know the Katrina furor will die out over time, and if anyone gets lonely for the quiet threads they will still be in the archives.
Wink

Alternatively just create a seperate semi-temporary Katrina/Hurricanes forum so that Current Events does not become a one note song.

Thank you for your attention,

Tanada

When people get the idea not to start any more new Katrina threads, then we will.

I just spent an hour combining them. They were all from the front page.

Yes, I've never seen so many on line at once. Don't know the actual numbers, but look for Aaron's recent post on it.

I appreciate this board a lot (obviously I am still here aren't I?) it just seems like all other news is beiing drowned out, and so much of the Katrina threads is pollitical ranting from both sides of the liberal/conservative spectrum rather than anything worth reading. I am looking for news and personal accounts, not to mention facts and figures, so all this pollitical rhetoric gets really old, really fast.

I'm not faulting the moderators and I know most people are just blowing off steam, I just got disgusted when I saw the whole first screen of my page was all katrina, all the time SIGH.

Thanks for giving me a place to vent Wink

I agree. I moved many of them to the Open forum and combined the rest. Actually, there are now less Katrina threads in the Current Events forum and fewer on the front page.

Until this dies down, we can't just delete them.
