Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Actually, I don't think I'ld want to be in LA with the power out. It's hot there. And doesn't the traffic suck without all the stoplights out?
And hey, aren't we invading iran in november? If November's taken, than I want December. Can I have December?

I think Santa Claus has December. Are you ok with January?

There are so many small quakes (small = less than 7 but can cause local damage) there and stuff like the Santa Ana winds messing things up, or, it hardly rains but when it does it really does, SoCal people are pretty used to dealing with the power being out, at least for a day or two or three. The "treat a dead turn signal intersection as a 4-way stop" drill gets practiced enough that it's generally handled pretty well. Also rolling blackouts have been a threat for several summers and sometimes have happened, so I doubt it's being taken all THAT seriously, not the end of the world.

CNN is doing wall-to-wall coverage. They don't know why the power went out. But it's some kind of mechanical failure, not a terrorist attack.

Power is coming back on in places, though some people are also reporting that transformers and such are blowing up as they try to re-energize the grid.

So when you fall off the gas cliff you'll have whole streets detonating as the pressure falls, raises then hits the pilot lights.

It does not take enough of a quake to knock down all the buildings, just enough to disrupt electric and gas lines to really make for a miserable time.

On the radio they said power is going on and off as crews work on locating the line break and troubleshoot the problem.

Nice to have an extra-terrestrial cause - if indeed that flare was the cause -
I heard the last big one on the east coast got started when some trees grew faster then they were expected to . . . . Laughing

90 % now have power back on in LA

Turns out this all an evil plot to test LA for future targeting for destruction by Bush and Co.
